Pop Artificielle ReviewSadly "Pop Artificielle" is Lassigue Bendthaus' last release. Fortunately, it was another amazing one. Presented as a concept album of sorts (I've heard stories that this is what the final product would be of a futuristic robot karaoke party..), PA covers old 60s and 70s songs with a very high level of innovation.Each song feels a little sparse musically on a passive listen. However, once attention is paid to the incredible amount of detail presented, it simply floors you. The songs themselves feel sort of skittery, as do the vocals (Uwe created vocoder software which creates a synthetic feel based on the raw vocal material given).
While it's certainly a little strange that Uwe chose to end the Lassigue Bendthaus name with an album of covers, it is certainly an amazing one. Hopefully, it will be as influential to other artists as his Render and Binary discs were.
