Damone Type of Thing ReviewI've listened to most of Vic Damone's recordings and, like many, realize that he has a beautiful, clear voice. Not quite the range of Jack Jones (in my view), but then neither did Sinatra. I enjoy a fair number of his 1960s LPs. This LP, however, is a cut above most of the others because on this one the combination of the excellent arrangements and the vocal interpretations captures the emotional content of the songs better than on most of his other efforts. It's just right. His renditions of Two for the Road, Make Me Rainbows and The More I See You are moving. A Sinatra fan would probably be satisfied because the arrangements and phrasing are exactly where they ought to be. Nothing boring here. It's a different style of singing compared to the early Mercury material. He really keeps you interested in the songs. This album is very hard to find on CD, but the Japanese CD is well worth searching for because the digital transfer is very clear and pleasant.Damone Type of Thing Overview
