Down Marriott Lane ReviewHaving lived in SoCal previously I was fortunate enough to be acquainted with the music of Rob Goraieb as he took his obvious songwriting talent and searched for his own unique place in the music world. Now Rob and the rest of The Get Set have come into their own with "Down Marriott Lane". Sometimes reminiscent of early Elvis Costello both in vocals and hooks, this album succeeds in having its own sound and saying something new while still delivering the pop hooks and feeling that make a recording like this one emminently listenable. It took me about three spins to really hit stride with Down Marriott Lane and since then it seems to have taken up permanent residence in my CD player.
Especially strong tracks are "Thin" and "I Feel Free" however there really isn't a less than good song in the bunch. If you are looking for something decidedly new yet readily accessible, get going and give The Get Set a get-go.Down Marriott Lane Overview
