Kylie Minogue: Aphrodite Les Folies - Live in London (2011) ReviewKylie's Aphrodite album, released last year, could have been renamed Classic Kylie -for it was imprinted with very Kyliesque qualities - exuberance and verve set to pulsing rhythms with sing-along, feel-good choruses and creative vocals. That said, I couldn't help feeling some of the songs were begging for an extended treatment...they were Kylie anthems yet this quality hadn't been properly explored.......So it was with great pleasure (and some relief) that we now get to enjoy a reworked Aphrodite on this special 3-disc release: the original version, a megamix collection including the duet with Taio Cruz (Higher) and a remix....Kylie remixes haven't always been successful, favouring a more extreme industrial sound, but on this new release the Kylie factor and her melodies remain centrestage....In the megamix All the Lovers keeps its wistful tone but becomes a thumping declaration, losing its discordant instrumental break and Put Your Hands Up goes all retro complete with the traditional Stock Aitken Waterman echoes...Aphrodite turns up the heat with a Freemasonish flavour...Great job!Kylie Minogue: Aphrodite Les Folies - Live in London (2011) Overview
